On May 23, 2026, the Canadian Multicultural Festival opened grandly amid a gentle spring rain. The rain did not dampen the enthusiasm of the participants, as people from diverse countries and cultural backgrounds gathered together to celebrate this annual cultural event.
Since 2023, the Golden Maple Chinese Seniors Association has participated in the festival every year. This year, under the leadership of President Huang Huiping, the association once again delivered an outstanding performance. The Xinjiang dance Huli Matang was vibrant and energetic, while the ethnic dance Spring Breeze was graceful and captivating. With their synchronized movements and elegant performances, both dance groups earned warm applause from the audience and showcased the unique charm of Chinese cultural arts.
Behind the scenes, the dedicated guidance of teachers Jiang Suisheng and Sun Shengying played a vital role in the success of the performances. In addition, the association’s newly established photography group demonstrated its talents by capturing memorable stage moments and the rich cultural expressions of various communities. Through their lenses, they vividly portrayed the beauty of Canada’s multicultural harmony and inclusiveness.
As spring rain nourishes all living things, culture warms the hearts of people. The Golden Maple Chinese Seniors Association will continue to make meaningful contributions and demonstrate its positive influence within Canada’s multicultural community.
