The 23rd Communicate Crime Awareness Day/

The 1st Mississauga Harmony Festival

(CCAD 2024-09-14)

The 23rd Police-Citizens’ Day/The 1st Mississauga Harmony Festival (2024-09-14)

The 23rd Communicate Crime Awareness Day/The 1st Mississauga Harmony Festival in 2024 was held from September 14th to 15th. This event allows citizens to understand community safety and policing policies, emphasizes the coexistence and cohesion of multiculturalism, and achieves the goal of community harmony. Preventing crime is the common responsibility of community organizations, citizens and police. Over the years, representatives from various departments of the Peel Regional Police, the Fire Department, the St. John Ambulance, various community organizations and chambers of commerce have participated in the exhibition booths. Citizens can take this opportunity to understand how various departments of the police force operate, and also obtain information about cybersecurity, bullying prevention, home and road safety, etc. The performances involve multicultural music and dance, traditional lion dance, etc. Interactive projects suitable for all ages are also arranged on site.

The GMCSA Xinjiang Dance Team was invited to participate in the 22nd Communicate Crime Awareness Day in 2023 and performed the "Melody of Love" program. Accompanied by joyful music, the audience was mesmerized by the gorgeous Xinjiang costumes, the passionate and dashing male dances, and the sweet beautiful female dances. The applause in the venue was thunderous and lasted for a long time.

This year, both of the GMCSA Xinjiang Dance Team and the Chinese Traditional Dance Team were invited to participate in the performance of the CCAD. The programs included "Singing in Tianshan Mountains" and the elegant "Spring Scenery in Yangzhou". Even though it was hot that day, we almost have full audiences who waited patiently to watch the Xinjiang dance. The show host repeatedly thanks to the audience's applause after the wonderful performance. We are looking forward that the GMCSA dance performance wil become a popular program again on the next Communicate Crime Awareness Day!
