2025 Annual General Meeting Report (AGM)
Golden Maple Chinese Seniors Association (GMCSA) was founded on February 19, 2019, and this year marks its 6th anniversary.
On the morning of June 16, over a hundred members gathered together under the warm early-summer sun at St. Jude’s Anglican Church in Mississauga to attend the GMCSA 6th Anniversary General Meeting.
Members arrived in elegant attire, warmly welcomed at the entrance by the Service Team sisters. To celebrate GMCSA’s 6th birthday, each participant received a special commemorative gift — “The Golden Maple Pen.” Responding to the call of the “Food–Nutrition–Cooking–Health” Project Team, members brought carefully prepared homemade dishes, filling a long table with nearly a hundred delicious foods.
Over the past six years, GMCSA has stayed true to its mission: lifelong learning, growth inside and out, and cultural exchange. Thanks to the dedication and sense of responsibility of the Association’s President and Board of Directors, as well as the enthusiasm of our vibrant membership, GMCSA has thrived. While carrying forward the rich traditions of Chinese culture, we also actively integrate and engage with local Canadian culture. By organizing diverse cultural, educational, and recreational activities tailored to members’ interests, the Association has inspired seniors to embrace new knowledge and new ways of living.
Lifelong learning has become the central theme of GMCSA. Here, senior members find support, teachers, friends, health, joy, and community — enjoying a fulfilling and happy later life while rejuvenating their spirit.
