Intro
On February 5, Golden Maple established the Nutrition & Health Research Team and formulated the initial project plan. The twelve members of the team come from various regions across the country—Heilongjiang, Shenyang, Zhengzhou, Beijing, Anhui, Suzhou, Shanghai, Chengdu, Fujian, and Taiwan—and include several highly skilled culinary experts. Team leader Xu Ruizhu has a deep interest in the study of longevity and wellness; Yang Yi is a senior traditional Chinese medicine doctor; and Huang Huiping holds a PhD in chemistry. This strong research team began its work in February.
On February 17, during the Golden Maple 2025 “Soaring Snake Dance Lantern Festival” Celebration, the team officially announced the newly funded project, “Food – Nutrition – Culinary – Health”, supported by the city of Mississauga. The team presented its research plan focused on food, nutrition, culinary methods, and health, aiming to raise seniors’ awareness of summer wellness, promote scientific dietary habits, and ensure long-term health in later life. The research goal was clear, and the project achieved its intended results.
The four seasons bring dramatic changes to weather and human health, and they also determine the growth cycles of plants. Therefore, consuming seasonal produce has a direct impact on one’s well-being. Guided by Dr. Yang Yi, the team conducted academic discussions on spring and summer wellness foods and dishes.
